Old time gospel and bluegrass music. Acoustic instruments only (except bass guitar). Limited to 13 musicians at a time due to fire marshal. Many musicians will rotate in and out over the course of a jam to give everyone a chance. Store has food and drinks for purchase. No alcohol allowed.

General Description
Western Carolina University

First Thursdays occur on the first Thursday of each month through May, in the Mountain Heritage Center. The Mountain Heritage Center is located on the ground floor of WCU’s H.F. Robinson Administration Building.

All the concerts and jam sessions are free and open to everyone. Pickers and singers of all ages and experience levels are invited to take part in the jam sessions, and the events also are open to those who just want to listen.

The Oolenoy Community Building is located in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains in the small town of Pumpkintown, SC.
